Mand'alor Din is having trouble with his new role, despite having had it for about a year. He understood his position a lot more during wartime; now in peace, he's struggling to keep himself from going insane with monotony.
When Luke Skywalker turns in a favor and sets up his new Jedi school on Mandalore, life for Din becomes a lot more interesting and complicated. Especially when not all of his subjects agree that Luke should be there in the first place.

What begins as a whispered joke inside the Decepticon ranks—unauthorized photographs of Starscream traded for energon—rapidly mutates into a full-blown underground market. No one expects Soundwave to trace it back to its origin. No one expects Megatron to prepare punishment.
And no one, especially Megatron, expects Shockwave to step in.
Declaring the scheme profitable, Shockwave reframes exploitation as economics, with Thundercracker and Skywarp conveniently rebranded as “solution providers” for the Decepticons’ chronic lack of funds. A controlled operation. A harmless commodity. Just images.
Until a client wants exclusivity.
Until “photos” are no longer enough.
Trapped between command, science, greed, and desire, Starscream finds himself reduced to a product that he does not even know about it—one that everyone wants to own, control, or dissect. And when Shockwave’s business spirals out of control, the real question becomes:
How much of Starscream was ever his to begin with?

John isn't quite sure of his role in the new and fragile team he's ended up with after getting used to being assigned one all these years as a soldier and a shadow operative.
Everyone else seems to fall into some designation or other—leader, strategist, moral compass, father figure, muscle—all of them pieces falling in a puzzle that John can't seem to fill because the others fit better, and the thought slowly pushes him into a frustrated despair.
John spirals, becoming one with the sofa. He doesn't know that something else is wrong with him. Something darker and more sinister.

John wakes up in a cold sweat, drawing deep, labored breaths, feeling like his chest is about to cave in.
His bloodshot eyes focus, and with it comes the chilling realization.

And it makes his heart ache, the thought of how much devastation and roughness Bucky’s been through, denied this kind of casual, compassionate touch that Sam doesn’t even think twice about offering.
Experimentally, he pulls his hand back. Bucky makes this low whining noise that makes Sam put his hand back immediately. And then he watches the way Bucky leans into it, eyelids fluttering like he’s almost falling asleep like this. The Decepticons, having had enough of Galvatron’s madness and desperate for peace, have surrendered en masse to the Autobots. In working out a peace treaty, the terms of which include giving each faction half of the planet to rule, the Autobots rediscover the concept of the High Protector and decide to give it the old college try. Ultra Magnus, ever the loyal and dutiful soldier, reluctantly becomes Galvatron’s protector. And Cyclonus, as Magnus’s equal and opposite in all ways, must become Rodimus Prime’s protector. Ugh.
