“What?” Izuku squinted at her, disbelieving.
She pushed his hair back from his face. “Mommy doesn’t have a quirk either.”
“You do so have a quirk! Mommy has Pull.”
Inko closed her eyes and looked within herself. Part of her was afraid that she’d let her connection go dormant, but the Force responded to her as eagerly as it ever had; maybe even moreso.
“No, baby.” She whispered into Izuku’s ear. “That’s just what I tell people.”

It wasn’t that Jiang Cheng hadn’t liked Nie Huaisang well enough, when they were all learning together in the Cloud Recesses. Anyone who had the energy to keep up with Wei Wuxian – and just enough good sense to help veer him off the really bad ideas, even if he did keep egging him on in regards to the medium-grade bad ones – was good news in his books.
But liking him didn’t mean respecting him, and the fact that Nie Huaisang hadn’t participated much in the war – couldn’t participate much – had led Jiang Cheng to discount him more or less entirely.
That’s what made it all the more surprising when Nie Huaisang ended up being the unofficial leader of the three remaining Great Sects in opposing Jin Guangshan after the war.

Several hundred years after the start of the Third Age, Morgoth uses a single thread in the Song of the world to slip back into Arda. This time, he does not challenge the Valar directly. He is far more cunning.
He blankets Valinor in a spell, trapping the peaceful - elves and Valar and Maiar alike – in blissful ignorance, their memories wiped of any life beyond their borders. The troublemakers of the House of Finwe are locked away where they cannot cause trouble. And the rest of Middle Earth is left to the dominion of Morgoth.
Unfortunately for Morgoth, the House of Finwe are very bad at remaining quiet. And this time around, they’re not fighting each other.

There’s hardly anything to do in the Hall of Mandos, but to think. About his brothers. About the absence of their father. About Maglor, still stranded on the shores of Middle Earth. His mother, safe from the evils of this world, yet separated from all whom she (hopefully still) loves. His wife, who he hadn’t seen in just as long. His own hands, itching, twitching with the need to just do something about it.
But give Curufin another millenia and the thought of getting busted out of the Halls wouldn’t have even crossed his mind.
