Summary
Askeladd does not care about children, he doesn't care about his men, and he doesn't care about Thorfinn.
He has reasons for what he does. He always has reasons.
What he does, for Thorfinn, what he has done for Thorfinn, is practical, incidental, or necessary—nothing more than damage control. Nothing more than a investment into a soldier that does good work for him.
Every time something happens, there's always an excuse, always a reason.
Of course he would have a reason- without one- why would he do anything?
Or
Five times Askeladd wrote off something he did as some grand ploy to make Thorfinn a better fighter, or just a mistake, or something he did just for the hell of it.
One time where he has no excuse and can't just bullshit his way out of this one.

He had tried showing her massacres caused by his hands.
Blood up to their ankles, Techno covered in crimson, breathing heavily as he stood before his stalker. He lifted his hands slightly— in a motion that said ‘Look. Look at what I am’.
The child had just stared at the man standing before her— no emotion betrayed in her solid, dark, purple eyes as she moved to his side without a word.
Standing, like she belonged there.
A bloodied god, and a child standing side by side.
Not once had the child ever looked at him in fear, never in disgust, never in horror, never in sick delight at his violence.
She didn’t look at him as everyone else did.
She did not treat him like a rabid dog— she saw him.
That fact scared Technoblade.

Summary
Peter Parker does not need anymore problems to sort through. An ego the size of Queens, 20 something super-powered hacks running around his city, and a sleep schedule that would ruin even the hardest working office dweller. So a teeny tiny crush on his insane(ly hot) right-hand vigilante is not in the cards for him right now. And Peter doesn't do crushes, he SWEARS this isn't a crush– more like a very deep fascination for the man who forcibly occupies most of his nights.
Wade Wilson on the other hand? He juggles around declarations of love like they're fresh off the grill and free for the people. Even if Spider-Man won't hear it, Wade has more respect in him than he did for any other person in his life. Not a hard feat for the guy with severe trust issues, but Wade swears up and down that there is something special about his creepy-crawly man crush; something that makes Wade doubt he could ever be a person who deserves that same respect.
And outside of both of these oblivious fucks inner turmoil, darker things have dragged themselves out of the dirt. Old enemies and older plots dust themselves off and wreak havoc on a very new drug market that opened up for New York's underground.

Summary
Simon can't stand to watch the way Grace cares for himself, or more actually, DOESN'T care for himself. When the other has gone multiple days without resting, the former convict decides to take matters into his own hands, err, well, hand. With Adrian's help, he's able to partner with the Eridian chemists to formulate sleeping pills that will allow Grace to slow down and sleep through the night. Getting the teacher to agree to this plan is another hurdle entirely.
Grace agreeing to Simon's schemes is surprising, the former convict not expecting to be gifted with the blonde's trust, but not nearly as surprising as how hot and bothered they both get as the teacher succumbs to his drugged state. An embarrassing conversation the next morning opens a door that Simon never expected to even exist; being offered the permission to secretly drug Grace with the Eridian pills and take advantage of him in any way he desired.
