Yin Yu dug his fingers deep into the sand, grasping nothing. He felt the dread wash over him. “What,” he rasped.
“This… thing that’s growing in you,” He Xuan said, voice level once more, “it’s feeding off of your fear, your unwillingness to say what you’re feeling.”
