Summary
Steve tilted his head slightly, staring ahead. Watching. Maybe he noticed the changes. Maybe he enjoyed the view. Maybe it meant nothing to him. Or maybe, deep down, he regretted that he couldn't draw it.
— The snow looks beautiful today, doesn't it? — he said to Steve as he approached him, even though he knew he wouldn't get an answer. That was alright. Steve had never been talkative when he was sick. Bucky remembered that well, because once upon a time Steve had been sick all the time.
When Steve went out on that mission, he got sick, and Bucky hadn't been there beside him.
He should have been. He should have been, because if he had, maybe it never would have happened... But he was here now. And he'd take care of Steve, because that was his job. He'd promised him that. Promised he would never leave him, that nothing would separate them in sickness or in health. They would stay together until the very end, to the end of the line. Together. Just as Steve had been there for him when he was the one who needed it.

Summary
Bucky has been living with Steve in Avengers Tower for a few weeks now and between therapy sessions and meetings with doctors, scientists and lawyers, Bucky is starting to have some nighttime problems.
Well, apparently Steve forgot to mention a small little aspect of their relationship...In short? Bucky not only doesn't remember being gay, but he also doesn't remember that he and Steve were together.

— I’m screwed, aren’t I? — he muttered, though he smiled faintly despite how red he still was. He knew there’d be no escape this time and nobody would let him chicken out. And asthma wouldn’t save him anymore...
And that was how the real story began, in which Steve once again felt like the tiny, sickly teenager he’d once been, who once again didn’t know where to look, blushed like an idiot, waiting for one of the girls Bucky had brought over to be ready to strike the proper pose.

Steve knew it might only be an insignificant detail, but today he caught himself realizing that for the first time he was seeing Bucky… unshaven. Bucky always tried to look good — and he looked very, very good, the best — he was always clean-shaven, always fixed his hair whenever his carefully slicked-back hairstyle became even slightly disturbed… And now Bucky was lying on the bed messy-haired, unshaven, with a cigarette barely still burning in his hand.
His arm kept slipping lower and lower, his head had fallen onto the pillow, ruining his hairstyle completely. Bucky’s eyes were closed, his lips slightly parted, his faintly trembling brows drawn together in a sleepy grimace, as if he were deeply troubled by something.
Steve had never hidden the fact that he liked looking at Bucky.

Summary
This series started out as a place to stash prequel ficlets that were intended to be brief flashbacks/asides in a sprawling, unposted, in-progress Bucky recovery fic. But then the recovery fic's backstory got overly complicated and grew a narrative of its own. I cut the narrative off, but two more took its place. Go figure.
(And the ficlets... all turned out to be stories. Again, go figure.)
There are definitely tie-in/continuation shenanigans throughout this series, and the individual stories will be referenced by the aforementioned WIP, but each story of the series should largely be readable on its own. Pieces will be posted as they are polished up, probably out of chronological order. Each one will have at least one timestamp inside, though, and often several.

Summary
He's not sure if Hydra put this hunger in him, or if he's always been like this, but the Winter Soldier (mission alias: James "Bucky" Barnes) has a need he must fulfill—whether it be in the back room of a club or in his room with a marvelous Machine—in spite of the terrible memories that tend to take over in the moment. He'd really prefer it if his handler, Captain Rogers, would step up to the plate to feed him...and given the chance, "Bucky" will do anything he can to have it that way.
Or: Bucky is addicted to dick but often suffers flashbacks when getting his fix; strangers, Tony, and Steve all help out in different ways.

Summary
Bucky doesn’t know why he does that. He doesn’t know why he always feels the impulse to make that correction—‘our baby’—because he knows it isn’t to remind Steve. Steve knows. Steve likes it very, very much.
Bucky thinks he does it to remind himself that he can be good. He has killed sixty-eight men, fourteen women, and one child. He remembers doing it. He remembers all of them.
But Steve is good. Steve is good, and Bucky is carrying Steve’s child.
That means that maybe a part of Bucky is good, too.
