Making new friends is the worst, but when he finds himself surrounded by a social circle, he figures he might as well try. Natasha is amazing. Tony and Bruce are way too smart for him. Steve seems pretty friendly. But most of all? James Barnes is gorgeous.

    And Clint is going to make him smile, just once. Even if it kills him.

    Johnny's leaning against the counter like this is the most normal conversation in the world, expression easy, shoulders loose, completely at ease despite the fact that nothing about this conversation is normal.
    Then there's a tiny hesitation. Brief, but noticeable.
    He shrugs. "Kinda holding out for someone."
    After that Peter's brain hits a wall trying to process the statement and it takes him a second to notice the shift in the room around him, it wasn't silence exactly, but a sudden quieting, like everyone had paused at the same moment to make sure they'd heard that correctly.

    Johnny tries to get Peter to realize he loves him Peter only for Peter to immediately go into detective mode to try to figure out who it is.

    Peter Parker is eight years old when he notices the name, it happens on a Tuesday morning while he’s getting dressed for school.

    There is nothing particularly special about the moment, Peter is just about to pull his shirt over his head when he glances towards the mirror on the back of his bedroom door and notices something strange near his shoulder. He stops what he is doing, dropping the shirt on the floor before moving closer to the mirror.

    Peter freezes, his eyes locked on the letters that sit cleanly below his collar bone like they had been carefully written in black ink. He let his fingers brush over them like it might have been an accident, the ink doesn’t smear or fade it stays exactly as it is.
