Shane cracked his eyes open, staring dumbly at the burly Russian hovering over him where he was still laying in bed.
“…bath?” He croaked, voice raspy with disuse.
“Mm. I ran you a bath. It will make you feel better before you go to sleep tonight. Will help with your sore muscles.”
Shane asks Ilya to fuck him gently during one of their regular hookups, badly bruised from their game. Ilya runs him a bath afterwards, and they fall secretly and desperately in love that way, through whispered confessions and late night conversations while Shane soaks, and Ilya quietly observes him.

Summary
Ilya knows that letting himself become too attached to Hollander would be disastrous for both of them. He is also intimately aware of the fact that sometimes life is cruel and short. Therefore, he believes that he should enjoy it while he can. He regards Vegas as proof that he is capable of indulging in Hollander without allowing it to mean more than it should. He simply needs to maintain that strategy come October.

Ilya is still feeling slightly off his axis after peering into Hollander’s past. The sweetness of it trickling into the gaping wounds today wrought inside him along with the domesticity of this moment, of waiting for Hollander to come home, of seeing the pieces of Shane that are tucked safe in this house. But Shane strolls right over to him on the couch, straddles his lap, hands gliding across Ilya’s shoulders and interlocking behind his neck like it’s the most natural thing in the world. And maybe it is by now, maybe this, their bodies interlocking seamlessly, is the easiest decision they have to make.
