Even if they’re important ones, small delicate lines that give the painting its soul, fading, the little things that bulk it up to give it real weight. Summary
He’s reminded, suddenly, of Marta: guilty only of a damaged trellis and a few amateur theatrics. Blanc had known from the beginning that she thought she was guilty, but hadn’t assured her of her innocence until checkmate. He did the same to Jud last night. Would he do the same again if it meant solving a case and bringing a murderer down, or bringing a wronged person justice? He knows he would, but it is not an easy thought.
In the immidiate aftermath of Martha's confession Jud has a small breakdown. Blanc helps him through it. Written as a companion piece for "Matthew 6:34."
