Please envision the Warriors of Darkness, newly brought to the Source after the Flood of Light meant they were in a situation where their only hope is an Ascian offering to help them via ritual suicide. They know Cylva was a traitor. Everyone they knew is probably going to die, and soon. They trust Elidibus as far as they can throw him, and as far as they know, Urianger is his loyal lackey. They just had the worst day of their lives, and Elidibus would very much like to help them, especially as he is a primal of salvation. There are limits to his ability to reassure them, though, and everyone here is extremely wary of Ascians.
Luckily, he has creation magic, which means he has very good weed.

Therefore, when Steve finally snaps and reaches out to put his hand in Eddie’s hair, tangling his fingers in the softer and frayed curls at the base of Eddie’s nape, and bringing their faces closer and closer before kissing him, a gentle and sweet press of warm and damn lips against chipped ones-
Eddie still tells himself that it doesn’t mean anything.
Even as his hands too find their way into Steve’s hair and he swings his leg over Steve’s lap to sit on his strong thighs. It couldn’t possibly mean anything.
Steve and Eddie hook up. It doesn’t mean anything. Unless it does.
