Summary
There were people in this world whom were born different, given extra abilities that they made them something more than everyone else. The world didn't think of them as special, as something that was positive for evolution. They were deplorable and dangerous. There was a prejudice against them that meant they were less than the 'normal' people. Once you've been put away and labeled as some 'thing' that needs to be avoided it was too difficult to survive in this world. What could they do other than take a few liberties with the rules? It wasn't like they wanted to be this way, but this is what they were given. If they world wanted them to be monsters, than they had no choice but to use their abilities and indulge them a little bit. All they could do was hope that their choices wouldn't catch up with them, hope that people never found out.
