It's stuck behind a few empty crates and some miscellaneous spare lab supplies. A few beakers. A blender, for some reason. An ironing board. Why? Because go to hell, Ryland Grace, that's why. You can't have enough fuel to come back but you can have an ironing board with no iron. Here's two kilos of cement-flavoured coma slurry. Kill yourself.
"I'm being dramatic," I tell myself aloud.
I'm really not. Dying in space is a very dramatic situation.
The ways that Rocky and Grace miss everything all the time, yet watch over each other, always.

My first fanfic! Ever! Please be nice to me I’m learning :,)
This may not be 100% accurate since Andy Weir is so goated when it comes to realistic world building and I am not science brained enough to understand half of what he writes. I’m mainly basing things off the book but Rocky and Grace act more like they do in the movie in my interpretation. I kinda just rolled with it from there. Also, I haven’t researched a ton into human starvation so some of the info may not be super accurate, but hey I can always change it later if not! (I think… Idk man I’ve never posted anything here before). Anyways, I hope you enjoy! Apologies in advance for subjecting you to my ADD fueled angst brain, but at least we can suffer together! :D
And no, he doesn’t die! Though he may wish he had at some point…

The first time I was awake when the bandage was changed, I almost threw up. It was way worse then, but still. I got halfway through changing the bandage this time, but after I removed the old one, I couldn't stop looking at it. Yes, it's ugly and nausea inducing and I don't like to look at it, but I've done stupider things. So, I'm still staring at it. Rocky really wasn't lying when he said the skin wasn't smooth. It's gross, to say the least. I feel like I might throw up again.

Grace is fed up with being in bed and constantly being ordered around by his medical team.
It's been over five Earth months since the Hail Mary arrived at Erid. Thanks to the ship's extensive collection of literally every piece of human knowledge ever, the Eridians were able to help Grace, but recovery from starvation is a long road. For Grace, it helps to have his best friend and his spouse rooting for him daily and keeping him company, especially since recovery can get pretty boring. He decides he needs some fresh (dome) air, or he is going to lose it.
