Shoto enjoys this silence. He doesn’t enjoy all silence, but something about this one pleases him. There’s a hum of warmth underneath it, and it comes with none of the awkward coughs and pressure to fill the air as it would at other times. It envelops him in a safety bubble, where nothing in the world exists but himself, Iida, and the study material in a single dorm room.
It’s a bit disorienting, the fact that Iida himself is the one that pops the bubble.
The sound would be hardly noticeable to most. A soft, fuzzy sound coming from under Iida’s breath. It’s melodic in a subtle way floating through the silence and becoming a part of the mood, rather than cutting through it.
Shoto thinks he likes it.

Iida sits next to him outside the bath, holding his hand tightly—as tightly as he had when he caught Izuku out of the sky just a few hours ago.
“You can sleep if you want,” Iida says quietly. “I will make sure you don’t fall in.” Iida’s smile is smaller than his brother’s, more subdued than All Might’s, but it is just as steady. Perhaps more genuine. A quiet I am here, I won’t let you drown that Izuku wishes he could inspire in others.
Trusting his friends to keep him safe, he lays his head against the wall of the bath, but he doesn’t fall asleep.
Across the room, Kirishima catches his eye and gives him a thumbs-up and a grin. Izuku watches him blankly, wishing he could return the smile, but he just can’t.

Basically, I thought the end to the Dark Deku arc was too lighthearted, and I wanted more of a tender, angsty beat about recovering through burnout.

Tensei pauses at the threshold of the room, tapping his wheels with the flats of his hands. Tenya’s been quieter since Tensei got injured—irascible and easily overwhelmed. He also won’t look Tensei in the eye most days. He idles at the edge of the living room, rocking his chair back and forth as he wonders if he’ll make the situation worse with his presence. But Tenya is his little brother, and Tensei can’t pretend he hasn’t seen this, that his heart doesn’t ache for the vacant expression on Tenya’s face.
So he wheels over to the couch, flicking the TV off with the remote. It breaks whatever spell Tenya’s been under, his eyes flicking up to Tensei’s face then off, searching for something else in the room to focus on. Tenya’s throat clicks as he swallows thickly.
“I apologize if I woke you.” The words are overly formal, and it just further reminds Tensei how little this version of Tenya resembles the younger brother he remembers.
Or...In the wake of Stain's attack, the Iida brothers hold tightly to their guilt.

Actually, Mel's excited about a lot of things going into the new school year. She’s excited to co-teach with Dr. Mohan and Mr. Langdon. She’s excited to continue supporting the kids on her caseload from the previous year, and she knows writing their IEPs will go so much better now that she knows them and their families a little. She’s excited that her Physics class will be entirely made up of students she taught in Chemistry the previous year; they were a great group.
There are things to worry about, too. Co-teaching with two new people again. The daily possibility that she’s going to do something overwhelmingly embarrassing in front of Langdon. Still not knowing where she should go during her prep periods. That she’s going to be just as alone as she’s always been at work, but with some added disappointment because she’s let her hopes get up, just a little.
There’s no way that she and Langdon can co-teach as well as she hopes. She’s sure her bubble will burst soon enough, that her crush will fade, and everything will settle back to baseline.
