Summary
'The druids mentioned a Quercetum is ailing: a blight of some kind.'
'Sounds painful,' Gwaine said from where he and Elyan rode behind them, the tack jingling in rhythm to the horses' steady pace. 'Do they need an ointment or something?'
Merlin snorted. 'A Quercetum is a grove of oak trees. I don't think one of Gaius' creams will do much good. It needs me and Arthur to set things right.'
When Arthur assists Merlin in a magical ritual, he realises just how much could truly be his, if he only had the courage to ask for it.

Summary
Gwaine laughs so hard he needs to sit down, landing heavily on the rickety chair in his chamber, and then so hard that he actually can't breathe and he's momentarily afraid he might die from it.
"Well," he says when he's recovered enough to speak. "Our King has finally managed to get hold of the right stick, at least, even if he is firmly grasping it by the wrong end."
Merlin glares at him, like he can't see why this is the funniest thing Gwaine has ever heard. "What the hell did you say to him?"
A throwaway comment leads Arthur to an inevitable conclusion: Gwaine is a sorcerer, and has been protecting him and his knights with magic for years. There's only one thing to do – repeal the ban on magic.
Now if only he could work out why this makes Merlin so angry.

Summary
"Sometimes I dream of leaving Camelot," Arthur spoke into the quiet of the forest.
It was quiet except for their horses' trotting steps, not too quiet to alert the paranoid knights, but enough for everyone to hear about his silly dream. It was apparent that Arthur intended to trust it only to Merlin's ears, but Merlin blundered through it and answered much louder, for everyone to hear and to join in the jest.

Summary
The thing is, Arthur knows how to cut a man down. What he doesn't know is how to stop his emotions from spilling out when a dagger makes an uncomfortable home in his manservant's gut.
