Summary
Seemingly out of nowhere and with no warning, Pyro returns to Tegrith, set on picking his life right back up where he left it eight years ago. Scott has no idea what to think about the man who used to be his best friend, who abandoned them all once, but is now promising that he's here to stay.
Especially with how he's saying that he's back for Scott specifically.
Both of them have changed in their time apart, but Scott swears that there's something different about Pyro. Has he just matured? Did he go though something awful while away from home? Or is it something more?
On top of Scott's whirlwind of conflicted emotions, Tegrith is threatened by a strange corrupting force like no one has ever seen before. Except maybe Pyro...

He could hardly think and didn't have the mental bandwidth to attempt and translate whatever message Twixxel left him. He doesn't know what to do. Could he even do anything, with the way he is now? If he's stuck in Minecraft—except he isn't. He is dreaming and he will wake up—

Everyone had a piece of them burried in Oakhurst. Most of them a corpse. Cleo had the doctor, Apo had Martyn, even M had the militia that he would visit. Those pieces were corpses, dead, with graves.
Scott had more than a corpse burried in there. Scott had thousands of years of violence that he shed and dug into the soil, still alive, bleeding and squirming. Or, at least, as alive as a vampire could be.

The one standing over Spoke was Jumper. Her smile was a little bit crooked and somewhat dishonest. An olive branch with little conviction behind it. But it was there, and that meant more than he could express with words. And that wasn’t all her attempt at reaching out amounted to, either. She gestured toward the blanket and pillow that she’d arranged as best as she could into a round pile. “I made us a nest” she offered.
Mapicc was already in it, rearranging whatever he could get his hands on to make it fit his standards better. He was purring in a way he hadn’t done since they’d taken down the Mafia. And, once he felt them looking, he met their eyes with an expression full of glee, his tail swishing excitedly behind him, and his horns burning already with anticipation. Demons were, for the most part, big on physical affection, but he’d always been rather excessive about it even by his species’ standards.

Mob’s a shut in. He’s also a Minecraft YouTuber. he doesn’t really have anyone in his life outside of discord friends. Said friends he’d never met in person and probably never would because that wasn’t the nature of their friendship. He didn’t have family, pets, neighbors, no one. Life was boring, overly uninteresting, that was until Verity came into it.
Verity gave him everything he wanted. He listened, he gave advice, he helped in whatever ways he could. He only wished Verity was real. He wished he was a person and not a file likely programmed on the same level as any other intelligently coded mod. As intelligent as he claimed to be he’d never be real. Verity wasn’t sentient. At least he thought he wasn’t.
