Apparently, though, Peter realized as Doctor Strange explained to him that he had to give up even more, losing everything-and-then-some just wasn't enough.

The multiverse continues to collapse in on itself. Doctor Strange discovers the source of the problem as Peter Parker. The only viable solution is to remove Peter from his original universe so that no more entities will be drawn to his presence there.
Peter is sent to a world that lost its Peter Parker, and finds himself lost in a sea of people he'd grieved who had all grieved him in kind.

Summary
Bilbo Baggins is a perfectly respectable gentlehobbit whose adventuring days are firmly behind him, thank you very much. He has missed nothing over the past five peaceful years, except for company, excitement, and the chance to finally meet a dwarf.
It’s then, of course, that an entire colony of dwarves happen to end up in the Shire, on the road to a new life in Belegost and eager to celebrate the Prince’s coming of age ball. Hot on their heels is Gandalf, offering Bilbo a spectacular chance: to attend the dwarven ball as one of them.
In retrospect, agreeing was never going to have been the best option to keep his quiet life. Especially after he runs into King Thorin— literally— and manages to be just a little too convincing in his new form.

His smile softened, he knew how important this was to his family, and to his people. Finding a hobbit was the only redemption for the dwarrow of Erebor, especially for the line of Durin.
He took his uncle's calloused hand and said, “I swear it uncle. At least one hobbit still lives.”

Of all the tales in Arda, there was none so tragic as the history of hobbits.
Bilbo lived a peaceful life hiding in the Shire. It was quiet, safe, and a little bit lonely. Though loneliness was a small price to pay if it meant keeping his existence a secret. After all, getting captured by the savage dwarves of Erebor meant certain death. At least that's what the stories his mother used to tell him warned.
Never trust a dwarf.

My (continued) take on the MGiME trope.
I've recreated my account and am continuing my orphaned pics. Full note in Chapter one.
Orla is reincarnated into the body of a young dam, and retains all her knowledge of the stories. But, she doesn't speak the language. She has great difficulty with dwarves Khuzdul, despite now being a dwarf, but picks up Inglishmek fairly easily.
Bifur finds this lost girl, and takes her in, claiming her as his daughter and helps her to learn to communicate again.
She tries to use her knowledge to help her new people, and change the course of the future.
Now if she could only figure out what Bofur meant when he kept trying to give her things she didn't need with money she knew they didn't have.

Summary
There are several things that the dwarves don't know about the hobbit that is traveling with them. Things that Bilbo is glad to let them find out for themselves along the way.
The first is that he's prepared for anything. His mother used to quiz him about what he'd do in any situation - from relatives to trolls - and Bilbo never disappointed her with his answers. Riding a pony all day gives him plenty of time to plan for everything.
The second is that he can throw a stone or any other small object hard enough to embed it several inches into a tree trunk. His accuracy is uncanny even by Shire standards. He's quite proud of it.
The third is that he doesn't actually say so many proverbs when at home but it seems to annoy the dwarves so he spends time thinking up all the ones he's heard before.
And last, hobbits scold like it is no one's business. The Dwarves he's traveling with really have no idea what will happen if they truly piss him off.
