Summary
"You wanted power more than you wanted me dead. Don't rewrite history."
"I wanted power, and I wanted you." He grins. It's an easy, ugly grin, and she can see every one of his teeth. This is the man who held the gun against her sister’s temple. This is the man who pulled the pillow off his father’s face and went on with his day. "And I got both."
"You got a signet ring and a wife who can't stand you."
"And yet here you are."
"And yet here I am." She sets her mug down. "And here you are. In the kitchen at seven-thirty in the morning, pretending to scroll through your phone, because I kissed you the other night and you can't stop thinking about it."

Summary
Langdon expected many things when he showed up at Robby’s apartment.
Dennis Whitaker wearing Robby’s clothes wasn’t one of them.
Or: Langdon finds himself living in his ex’s apartment with his ex’s boyfriend, without his ex.
“I wonder what Robby would do,” Whitaker said, “if he could see you now, fucking yourself on my fingers?”

Summary
Beside him, Robby remained motionless except for the steady rapping of his fingers against the back of his hands. He stared out into the dark with that same faraway look, as if whatever part of him had come over to sit by him had not yet fully caught up to his body.
Langdon swallowed once. His throat felt raw, though he had not spoken in what must have been twenty minutes.
“You know,” he said at last, as if the words had been stolen from his mouth, “the funny thing is, I always thought rock bottom would feel a little more dramatic than this.”

Summary
As John slipped into the hoodie, still warm from the man's body, he was thinking about the way the constant interchange of morning to evening and back again made the job feel endless sometimes. By the time Robby came in the next morning, though, he was actually looking forward to handoff.

Summary
Robby doesn’t date coworkers. There’s no rule against it, just a million rules to follow once the relationship is established, if his sit-in with HR, Garcia, and Santos is anything to go by. He just doesn’t want to shit where he eats. He wants to go to work, do a good job, and come home to eat a crappy frozen meal by the television, watching reruns of M*A*S*H until he passes out. Rinse and repeat.
He tells this to Jack and Dana, expecting nothing of it, because he worked on the assumption that they were all adults who remembered to mind their business. However, this assumption, he finds out, after Jack starts talking about this guy he’s met in a PTSD support group, is wrong.
Or; Robby’s first date in a while.

Summary
This wasn’t panic, though that was certainly an element. Perhaps if it was, the benzos could’ve been justified, could’ve come in an orange canister with a psychiatrist’s name on the label. But this was something both more vague and more specific, something that required months of dual-diagnosis PHP and off-label lamotrigine twice a day.
A character study in dual-diagnosis early recovery.

Who the fuck is Brendon Park?

“So you’ve been here before too.” It’s a question, but not really a question. Pope can feel the heat of Robby’s leg through his shorts, the edge of a knee bumping up against his thigh. “I guess I should have known. Other people would have tried to talk me down off the ledge. Tell me I still have something to live for.” But Pope didn’t.

Summary
"Another half hour after that, Robby and Abbot arrived, both dressed appallingly heterosexually. Trinity wasn’t entirely sure they’d grasped the concept of a pride party. Still, Abbot came bearing more ice and Robby seemed to be shrinking in on himself in an effort to not look like her boss, so Trinity just rolled her eyes and gestured them inside."
...
Abbot and Robby are now in an established relationship...but what kind? As they take the next steps as a couple (braving the terrifying worlds of HR paperwork and pride festivities, among other things) Robby and Abbot are forced to grapple with what their evolving relationship means to them and their identities.

Summary
Jack watched two dogs across the street sniff each other warily while their owners struck up a friendly chat. Out of the corner of his eye, he could see Jake watching him.
“And the therapy helps?” Jake asked, quietly.
Jack nodded, softly. It felt like a lie. Nothing could help, not really. It didn’t bring Elise back. It didn’t fix his leg. The therapy just kept Jack alive long enough to find something else worth living for. Short of ridding the world of violence, therapy was the best thing he could recommend to this kid.
-----
Jake had been ghosting Robby since the night of Pittfest, which was for the two of them to sort out. It was none of Jack's business. At least, it was none of his business until he ran into Jake outside his therapist's office and accidentally started mentoring the kid.

Summary
Whitaker is looking at him with the biggest, bluest eyes John's ever seen. “You're Park the Shark’s roommate?”
John snorts. “No.”
“Oh, I—”
“We live together,” he clarifies. “We started dating when I was finishing my R3.”
Whitaker squeezes the saline so hard he squirts it up the patient's arm.
