“You’re trying to find BriLex smut aren’t you? Oh my god — you ARE!” Eddie says, cackling as he peeks at Steve's screen. “You can’t just GOOGLE it, man. Fuck sake! You might actually have socials and all, but holy hell you’re clueless.”
“Fuck off. There’s almost 40,000 of these things out there, according to you. And also according to you, it’s hot. So … yeah. I’m curious, okay?”
“Okay, okay. First off, you need an ao3 account to get full access. Some authors make their stuff available only to registered users. But hang on a sec — I have a few pulled up already on my iPad.” Eddie hands Steve a plate and a napkin before getting up to grab his iPad from the kitchen counter. “Grab yourself a slice — I’ll be right back.”
“What the fuck is ao3?” Steve calls out as he takes a slice of pizza and settles in on the couch.

“Yep,” Steve says as he sips his drink, “you do. It’s the ‘how do I act normal around this guy now’ look.”
“Okay, well. First off, I did not google you.”
Steve raises his eyebrows and cocks his head in disbelief.
“What? I didn’t!” Eddie exclaims, feigning indignation as he takes another sip from his ginger ale. “My best friend did and then she texted me,” he mumbles, smirking into his glass.
“I’m sorry, what was that?” Steve needles. “Didn’t quite catch that last bit.”
Eddie sighs, rolling his eyes. “I said my best friend did the googling and then sent me the results. So no, I truly did not actually google you. Besides, it’s awfully presumptuous of you to think that my uneasiness is related to anything other than my crippling fear of flying. Or maybe I just think you’re pretty. But in any case, nope. Did not google you.”
“Ah. Okay, I see. Makes complete sense,” Steve pauses as Katie sets their meal trays down on their tray tables. “So, you think I’m pretty, is that what I’m hearing?”
“Oh shut up. You know you are,” Eddie scoffs.

Steve smiles in spite of himself and takes in the sight of the man standing before him. He’s attractive, with deep russet-brown eyes and full lips, his long wavy hair brushing against the shoulders of the leather jacket he’s wearing. He’s casually dressed, his long legs accented by the heavy black boots and artfully distressed jeans he’s wearing. Steve can’t help but think that had they met in a different setting, Steve would be offering to buy him a drink. Maybe try to get his number.
“It’s okay,” Steve says, winking. “I didn’t hear you, that’s all. Wasn’t expecting anyone else to be around and when you started talking I just got a little freaked out. I’m Steve Harrington, by the way.”
“Eddie,” the man says with a nod, briefly extending a hand before immediately retracting it and returning it to his hip.
‘Weird,’ Steve thinks to himself as he attempts to parse this interaction in his mind.

The man is unfairly attractive.
And that pisses Eddie off almost more than anything else about his current situation. Because of fucking COURSE the guy is painfully pretty. And of course Eddie is crossing this guy’s path when his mood is at such a fucking low. How is he meant to be charming for the pretty stranger when he’s feeling so bitchy?
Handsome Stranger casts his eyes along the length of Eddie’s body, smirking slightly as he cocks an eyebrow, his gaze lingering a beat longer than normal at Eddie’s crotch. “Actually, I suppose not.”
