Summary
Ashur watches Tarquin curiously. He hates leaving in the rain. He's said so before. Any cloak or covering never seems to protect him, and by the time Tarquin arrives to whatever place he's going he's drenched—hair dripping, clothes sopping wet underneath—and grumpy. He's crashed here in the Shop before. In a bunk, if they're open downstairs, or on at least two occasions hunched over and contorted in his chair at their shared table. Anything to wait out the rain.
Which is why it's surprising he's leaving now.

"You almost lost me that match you know. Would've had me knocked out bleeding on the floor. Mind telling me why you followed me here? Again?"
"You were injured. Twice. Is it so terrible for me to want to ensure your safety?"
Tarquin won't try to claim his habits are healthy. But they work. Enough. For him, at least. Ashur learns of his taste for recklessness and disagrees.

Summary
He should stop this. Stop leading Ashur along now, before he breaks the soft fragility underneath. But that familiar longing is there, and as much as Tarquin knows what he's doing, he can't bring himself to stop.

Summary
The Imperial Divine has always been male, just as the Southern Divine has always been female. He can't explain why that point needles at him, more than the others. He is the head of the Chantry, and until he is able to take the actions needed to pull the corruption up by the roots, that is all that matters. It is not as if he would let another, man or woman, unseat him before his work is complete. Something about it bothers him all the same, just out of grasp.

Summary
It was simply an off-hand comment, an unimportant debate between strength versus experience. Ashur hadn't meant for it to lead to a challenge, nor the bet he made as a result. Yet here he is, Tarquin's hand grasped firmly in his as he tries to leverage it down toward the table. It becomes all he can do to concentrate on the match as Tarquin coaches him, guiding him in his movements. He hadn't expected to be so affected by Tarquin's words, by this tone of voice, but soon he finds all he wants is to hear it again.

Smooth and Soft, Unworked and Uncalloused by Easterngate
Fandoms: Dragon Age (Video Games), Dragon Age: The Veilguard (Video Game)
08 May 2025
Tags
Summary
Tarquin can tell by his uncalloused hand he never knew long days of physical labor, never chopped logs for fire, did not have the rough ridges on his fingers or palm from the rub of a sword or bow string, repeated over and over thousands of times on his journey from boyhood to man. His hands are used to softer things, of silk and velvet and satin. Unworked and unblemished. It's almost startling.
The Viper lets go and reaches down for his coat and gloves and Tarquin wonders at the loss. His hand sits there in the air, just a moment too long, dazed at the loss of him and the implications of his delicate skin, before lowering it slowly back to his side.

Summary
He pressed nose and mouth against Ashur's head, uncaring about the bitter and foreign taste of blight in his mouth. He spit it back out onto the floor, but he could not stop himself in the moment from touching lips to skin, risk be damned. Ashur was here, in these last moments with him, and Tarquin would give him everything.

Summary
"The blight is a nasty thing," Dorian continued, a hollowness to his voice. His eyes were distant, and Tarquin wondered if he were truly talking to him, if he even remembered his presence. "Those who survive the first couple days find themselves wasting away. It becomes a slow thing, but no less painful to watch. Eats at the body, consumes it, until they become a shell of who the once were."
