“Okay, I know how this looks,” Shane tells Ilya, “But I mean, technically, we are still alone. Together.”

Harris and I watched one the other night, where this campus bad boy is actually a huge nerd. You know, secretly pounding textbooks in the library.”
“Yes, exactly!” Wyatt said. “You’re like the opposite of the girl that takes off her glasses in a movie and everyone realizes she’s hot. You put them on, for that effect.”
Ilya looked mildly offended. “Oh, so you did not think I was hot before?”
“Eh, on paper, I guess.”
“On paper,” Ilya repeated back, grimacing. “Like taxes? You think I am as interesting as doing your fucking taxes?”
The world goes crazy over Ilya in glasses, and Shane tries to deal.

Summary
Shane and Ilya had mutually agreed to keep their whatever-they’re-doing out of Sochi. It was an easy decision to make: this was bigger than any MLH rivalry and definitely bigger than a few hotel hook-ups. There was no room for distractions, not with Olympic gold on the line.
So it’d be really fucking great if their daemons could get on the same page and stop trying to cause an international fucking incident.

Summary
Ilya Rozanov has been drafted by Boston, the number one pick overall, but his father doesn't want him moving to America and so takes steps to block his visa. He's going to have to go back to Russia and stay there forever and that, thinks Shane Hollander, is wrong.
It's so wrong that Shane can't stop himself from doing something about it. Even though that something is the most reckless, the only reckless thing he's ever done in his life. He marries Rozanov in secret, to keep him out of Russia and put him on a path to Canadian citizenship.
Shane's got a five-year plan to get him there and when you have a plan nothing can go wrong. Right? Right. When you have a solid plan and a marriage that's on paper only there's no risk of feelings getting involved. Not on Rozanov's part and certainly not on Shane's.
Right???
