Suddenly, an inexplicable sense of safety and peace falls over him, relaxing his muscles and slowing his tears. It’s astonishing how quickly he stops crying - he only hiccups a handful of times before he’s been completely soothed by what he now recognizes to be the presence of some entity. He’s too weak to even jump as he feels cold, boney hands gently swipe the excess tears from his face.
“You poor little thing… You deserved better than this.”

Tommy kills himself in exile and gets adopted by the Grim Reaper.

What a strange concept.
Connection.
They had never felt it. Never been understood. And no one had even cared enough to try.
Until… you.
Sometimes, they couldn’t take it. How could you look at them, right in their optics, and say they were lovely? How could you look at them with a smile, a real, genuine one? Not the shudder of disgust that seemed to be the default while looking in their direction. How could you ask their opinion? They are not people, yet you treat them like they are. Why can’t they get enough of it?
It’s mortifying, almost. Yet… they can’t seem to let go of how sweet it feels, now that you’ve given it to them.
"If we want the rewards of being loved we have to submit to the mortifying ordeal of being known" Aka: dca x reader slowburn where you end up knowing them so intricately, that they do not need to say a word. Knowing that when Sun’s hands fidget subtly he is nervous, even if his faceplate doesn’t show it. Being able to gauge Moon’s mood by simply knowing that if he grows a little too still, something is wrong. Summary
Following up from events during episode 8, and some spoilers from episode 9.
Caine crashes out, and crashes out hard. That once bubbly stage performance is now replaced with malice and hatred as he torments you and the rest of the members of the Circus. Though maybe, underneath all that malice and hatred, is a deep-seated fear of being alone, of not being appreciated or loved.
(I promise Caine isn't evil in this, he's just VERY hurt and goes down a VERY dark path. Things will get better, eventually 👀)
