Her scent—sharp citrus and a hint of something grounding, clove maybe?—rolled out, cutting the tension like a blade. It was unmistakably an Alpha scent.

I've seen so many stories completely villainizing Celine, which I'm totally interested in exploring don't get me wrong, but I also disagree that that's how she is in canon. She's a lot more complex than that, I think. That being said, this ALSO isn't based on canon. This is Celine doing a better job at being the parent Rumi needed.
Also note that the first chapter is a prologue and not really in the style that the rest of the fic will be written in, it's just like that for atmosphere!
