assignment in primary school.Me being angsty and writing harry potter in his cupboard. You have been warned, this is sad.
Harry is having nightmares, but they started long before his adventures with his good friends, these run more deep. He luckly (or not) has had them before and knows what to do.

After Molly Weasley reports shocking abuse on the part of Petunia and Vernon Dursley, Albus Dumbledore makes an official decision to Turn A Blind Eye. After all, the Dursleys *are* the key to Harry's Blood Wards. Though McGonagall is appalled, she is ultimately unwilling to take a stand against Albus.
Enraged at this dual neglect, Severus Snape decides to take matters into his own hands. Little does he know that his attempts to modify Harry's Blood Wards will result in *accidentally adopting* The Boy Who Lived. Shocked and horrified, Severus is left with no choice but to move forward as best he can. After all, there's no use crying over spilled potions. . .
This fic is set just after the Weasley siblings rescue Harry from the barred window/canned soup/cat flap situation in Harry Potter & the Chamber of Secrets. It is broadly inspired by many of my favorite Snape/Harry Adoption Fics, which I have gathered into the collection Snape_Harry_FoundFamily. Thanks, all y'all, for creating such delightful fics.

Summary
Albus Dumbledore knows what Harry Potter is. He knows that the boys death, while regrettable, is necessary to stop the current Dark Lord and prevent the rise of another.
Lord Voldemort knows what Harry Potter is. He knows that Potter is his gift from fate; the equal he never knew he desired and will now stop at nothing to have stand by his side.
Severus Snape knows what Harry Potter is. He knows that it’s going to come down to a decision, a decision laid on his shoulders: what matters more, ending the war with the Dark Lord or allowing Harry to live his life?
Harry Potter does not know what he is and is simply trying to fight a war that his enemies are suddenly changing the rules to.

Summary
Harry feels great, honestly. He’s got a loyal group of friends, big plans for the future, and he thinks he’s finally gotten the hang of how other people show emotions and how to use those emotions to get what he needs.
Plus now there’s an exciting tournament happening, Snape’s darkening mark means Harry might get his chance for revenge on Voldemort sooner rather than later, and the new Defense Professor is an absolute bloodthirsty genius.
So Harry’s great.
It’s just that Severus Snape is not doing so great. He worries if his ward will survive a year filled with danger, masked enemies, and changes happening quickly within the student body.
