Well, Xie Lian certainly feels fine. His spiritual energy reserves remain untouched. His physical form, as healthy as ever. And his mind, unfettered and free of worldly disturbances.

There was only one slight… nuisance.

He couldn’t seem to stop speaking today.

Xie Lian gets afflicted with a particularly troublesome truth-telling curse from a malicious spirit. Hua Cheng deals with it.

So… Arahabaki was sentient now. Which was… something.

Chuuya wasn’t drunk enough for this but the alcohol that was in his system seemed to have mellowed out the gods’ more cannibalistic mutterings. Not by much but enough that Chuuya was able to put that particular catastrophe on the back burner.

“So, you’ve been asleep for the last…” he tilted his head to the side as he thought, cheeks flushed from the wine, “…eighteen years? Or is it eleven?”

Our body did not exist until eleven years ago; we existed but this body did not

… well that answered his questions about whether or not he had been grown in a test tube.

TLDR: Arahabaki is sentient, Chuuya is having a fucking blast and Dazai is just wondering what happened.

    Summary

Those pretty golden eyes were watery, a thin trace of skin could be seen by his blood-soaked temples, maybe due to the continuous tray of tears that escaped his eyes and cleansed the blood that should have dried there.

“Your Highness, can you hear me? Your Highness!”

His face was lacking expression, while the same words played inside his heart. It seemed as if thinking consumed too much energy, so those faint words would take their time to be heard again.

But Hua Cheng could see it. Hua Cheng could see the pain that dragged his god to be in this state.

His hands scratched the wood that surrounded him, sometimes hard and messy, sometimes softly, most times without energy.

    His god was in pain.

    “Your Highness!”

    And he could do nothing.
