Summary
Tommy was raised as a hunter. A Spider. He was trained to the limits of the human body and even beyond them. Thirty trainees, whittled down until there was one left. The survivor. The Spider.
It was all Tommy knew, all he wanted--all he needed.Until he left.
Now he has to find a way to survive in an entirely different world--one that seems designed to confuse him. And while he doesn't understand it, Tommy knows that he has escaped. He's free.
But the Web doesn't like to see its Spiders leave, and with memories of his dark past chasing him even beyond his dreams, Tommy will have to fight harder than ever before to keep this life he sacrificed everything for.

The prequel to Monachopsis (caught in the web). Expanding on Tommy’s story, this fic focuses on his past as Twelve, a young recruit in the Red Room training to become his class’ Spider. While this could be considered a standalone, I highly encourage you to read Monachopsis before this prequel for the best experience, as it contains lots of context for the universe and the characters in it.

Previously posted under username signofthree. This post-IW fic was written pre-IW, so it is pure speculation based on the trailers. And now, I suppose, a slight AU.
It’s been months since the Avengers defeated Thanos, and Peter’s doing fine. Really. Okay, so he has like, ten times as many villains to fight lately (and what is up with their costumes?). And sure, Tony has barely spoken to him since they got back. And, yeah, the whole coming back from the dead thing is a mind trip. But he’s dealing with it. All things considered, he’s doing a pretty good job of it too.
With everything else that’s going on, a bruise seems like such a little thing that Peter doesn’t pay it any attention, even when it doesn’t fade nearly as fast as it should. It’s just a bruise. It’s no big deal.
Enter an alien virus, throw in some Dr. Strange, inter-dimensional note passing, and a very, very angry Tony Stark, and suddenly it’s not such a little deal anymore.

Summary
Homecoming AU.
Ben and May divorced before Peter’s parents died, so when Ben is murdered Peter goes into foster care. It takes just a tiny taste of superpowers for Peter to decide he doesn’t want to put up with his horrible foster father anymore—the streets are infinitely more appealing. All he wants is to be Spider-Man anyway.
So he leaves.
Simple.
Simple, that is, until Iron Man needs Spider-Man’s help. Peter isn’t about to turn down an opportunity to fight alongside Tony Freaking Stark, but he also isn’t going to let his hero know that his recruit is a fifteen-year-old homeless dropout. So they strike a deal. Peter will help Tony. In return, the mask stays on.
And that’s when things get complicated.

The King is gone. Derek knows this. The King is gone and Derek is here and the life they have built is real and good and full of plants with Latin labels and forty-seven thousand subscribers and butterfly pasta on Wednesday nights.
The fault lines are also real.
It starts on a Monday with a book that mentions stars. By Friday Derek has spent a week navigating cracks in the wall between what he knows and what humans are supposed to know, and he is exhausted, and he has said none of this out loud, and Avery has noticed all of it and said nothing and simply stayed close in the particular Avery way of staying close that does not announce itself and does not demand anything and is somehow the most useful thing in the world.
On Friday afternoon Derek says: I think I need to talk to someone professional about this.Avery says: I know a really good therapist.
Derek says: of course you do.
Avery says: I looked her up three weeks ago. Just in case.That is, somehow, the most romantic thing anyone has ever said to Derek Hutchins.
