“Your hand tremors.” Ranpo pulls a lollipop from their pocket. They tear the wrapper off and move to deposit it on the floor, but falter at the last second. Instead of dropping it, they simply ball it up in their hand.
“My…” Kunikida’s voice trails off. He looks at his hands, as if he needs to visually confirm they’re shaking. As if they aren’t always shaking.
Huh.
“Medicine won’t fix it completely, but it should help. And I bet Yosano could get you a prescription lickety-split!” Ranpo sticks the lollipop in their mouth. They beam like they’ve just solved a new case.
kunikida assumes the position of agency president. somewhere between shaking hands, pastry boxes, and dazai leaving the door open, he learns leadership also means knowing when to take a step back and trust others will help you shoulder your burdens.

Dazai furrowed his brows, staring at the man in front of him with pure disbelief. For God’s sake, Chuuya seriously didn't know? Seeing the blatant condescension written all over Dazai's face, Chuuya’s temper flared instantly. "What the hell is that look for?! What’s so hard about just giving me an answer? Seven minutes of what!?"
Dazai scoffed, a smug smirk playing on his lips as he mocked Chuuya for completely missing the metaphor. "Seven minutes after death, Chuuya. Medically speaking, after your heart stops beating, your brain still has seven minutes before it completely shuts down. It’s like a post-credit scene in a movie theater, where all your most cherished memories are replayed before the screen goes completely dark." Dazai winked, a mischievous grin spreading across his face.
"And guess what? My final seven minutes will be filled with nothing but your angry face. Even in my last moments toward eternal peace, I’d still have to watch that ugly hat of yours spinning around in my head. Ugh, just thinking about it gives me the creeps!"
