Summary
Snape knew all this and took all reasonable precautions when James’s son came to Hogwarts. He was prepared for arrogance, superiority, lack of dedication, general dickishness, and yes, that temper he used to love and its explosive consequences.
And yes, maybe he was a bit of a prat about it, but when it came to Harry Potter, he could not bring himself to be arsed about it in the slightest.
Except in remembering that Harry James Potter was the son of his nemesis and the girl he once loved, he forgot one very important fact – Harry Potter was Petunia Dursley née Evans’s nephew.
Harry could pull a prank to be certain, and yes, his temper was a beast of its own. But there was a certain art to weaponized perceptions and rumors.
Harry Potter was a boy who knew exactly how to be a petty bitch.
