The rules were simple. Doms issued orders, Subs followed them.
A Sub who refused to take orders would eventually suffer from Dynamic Deprivation. Symptoms often manifested in the form of a sickness. Your body would grow heavy, your joints ached, a chill burrowed into the bones while your skin felt feverish, and, worst of all, the mind would become hazy, making thought almost impossible.
Alastor didn't believe Subs were inherently weak. In fact, during his life, he had used his dynamic as a tool to lure Doms who pretended to be upright gentleman to their pathetic demise. Being a Sub had allowed him to slip under the radar of suspicion until a bullet to the head had brought his fun to an untimely, messy end.
No, the reason he kept ending up on the verge of starvation was simply because he found a new, joyful hobby in pissing all the Dom Overlords off.

Cover's their grief and the uncanny feeling of dying and coming back in one of the most interesting and creative ways possible. Short (chapter wise not word count wise) but powerful and so well written. In my native language, this fic is truly "Kort en Krachtig".
Though I love everyone lives AUS where everyone kind of just moves on afterwards, I also adore fics like this, where you are exploring the grief and trauma of the after math. The exploration of the concept "how would someone react to being brought back to life?"
Them not fully remembering everything immediately after, it slowly coming back to them in vivid dreams? UGH I LOVE IT SO MUCH
The references to Legoland? I spy a writer who did their research. And the parallel of Penny, the one who's whole thing in the show was not remembering and not knowing, being the only one who remembers it so vividly? ITS SO PERFECT
Mischa's little pronoun slip up that lead to it all, it's truly the little things.
Also, the concept of a talia mischa noel poly ship is completely new to me, but as a proud multishipper, one that I will take with me in my thoughts.
