One-shot story. After taking down the Dimensionizer in the 1987 universe, 2012 Donatello and his '87 counterpart head to the Primary Turtle Reality to deactivate the last Dimensionizer. However, Kraang Subprime, the Kraang's master spy and Kraang Prime's right-hand man, had teamed up with his cousin, '87 Krang, to destroy the turtles and hijacks '87 Donatello's portal to prevent them from foiling their schemes, leading to the two Donatellos to end up in the 2003 Turtle universe, where both Donnies enlist the help of that universe's Ninja Turtles to destroy the Dimensionizers and stop both Krangs from destroying the multiverse. (A slight rewrite of "Trans-Dimensional Turtles")

It was little wonder the entire universe was rotting away - there was no real recovery happening even after five years. New growth was constantly smothered by new problems, and not just in New Asgard. The Guardians of the Galaxy reported the same on every world they visited. The strife caused by the sudden loss of half of all life - not just peoples but the living plants and animals they ate, the seeds held in grain stores, and the flora and fauna that kept ecosystems in balance with the space they inhabited - was causing more death, misery, and violence even now.

If the creators of the MCU can just show us Old Man Rodgers and imply that Captain America made a parallel timeline that is the best of all possible worlds for himself then I can show you the brodinsons doing it for themselves too.

Others shrugged and went, 'Eh, nothing, probably'. Those people, Anthony suspected, had yet to lose the love of their life and didn't have the desperate hope that they might reunite.
In a world without a Heaven or a Hell, there were no concepts of pearly gates or flaming archways. No angels, no demons. Made the post-mortem options limited, not that anyone knew that.
Despite being a man of science, Anthony wasn't so bound by the scientific method that he couldn't indulge in a little wishful thinking that he might see Asa again somehow, some way, in some fantasy world.
Later at his funeral, their friends and loved ones agreed with him. They, too, hoped he and Asa were together somewhere beyond the stars Anthony loved so well. Somehow. Some way.
If only they knew how bang-on they were.
