Summary

Except the person who wrote the invitation knows Dr. Emily Smith, Yaz's new partner in more ways than one.
And the two of them intend to find out just who might be playing games with them.

When the Doctor's treatment of Yaz comes back to bite her, her companion decides it's time to go home. The tension between them and the promise of more time isn't enough to keep Yaz from needing space. Unfortunately, she learns the brutality of the universe. She got what she wanted, but the distance between them isn't the kind even the Doctor can cross. Separated by force, it is only because of the stubbornness of the first of the Time Lords and the determination of her companion that they find each other again.
Happy endings aren't something the Doctor knows much about. Will she get hers this time? Maybe, but it'll have to be the long way round.

You don't need to know anything about 'Doctor Who' before reading, just know the basic premise: an eccentric guy travels in a police box around space and time. He likes to help people, sometimes wears a scarf, plus can regenerates into a whole new person. I hope you enjoy~!

Following on from the events of Damnum Fit Injuria, the Valeyard has a plan to deal with the rogue copy of himself, but for that, he'll need something that was hidden at the height of the Time War, in a vault full of abominations and monsters created by the destruction wrought in the conflict. The problem - the vault was created by the Doctor to seal these potential living super weapons away and the main entrance is protected by a sea of traps and defences.
The other problem - Division also want what's in the vault, and they've sent a crack team, one made up of faces from the Doctor's past, led by a face the Doctor has forgotten...
