I FORGOT A SUMMARY AHHHHH
Someone targeting the Commission isn’t anything new, with them being such a large pillar in society that promotes Heroes; occasionally, they have to replace the windows or lawn if an attack is bad enough. Maybe hire a few staff members to replace lower-ranking employees who did nothing but show up to work that day. A building can be rebuilt, new people hired, and money had never been an issue to the HPSC with all of the public support it gets. But this isn’t that, it isn’t just a matter of replacing some glass or buying new trees- the Commission is currently more like an active demolition zone than a proud government building.
This isn’t just a targeted attack, it's angry- furious even, a wrath proven right and twice as deadly for it. This attack is a message.

Starts with the commission burning down and Hawks injured
He runs and then dabi comes by and takes him back to the league, Hawks is delirious.
Touya was a trainee with Hawks in the commission when they were little, but doesnt consciously recognize that dabi and Touya are the same person.
The league tries to help him out, Hawks is pretty out of it, then thinks they are pulling a fast one or tricking him or something. Is leaving to go meet up with the commission ppl that are left. -

I didn't even know I needed to read something like this SO bad. What a masterpiece, what an excellent work of art.
To be honest, sometimes the writing confused me and I had to read a paragraph over twice very attentively, but hey I learned the word chagrin from this fic!
I especially liked how naturally some (distinctly in-character) actions rolled out. Not to give anyone spoilers, but my favorite parts were where a character does something very typical of the series that's absolutely unhinged and unexpected, yet it's written like it's all just casual, normal stuff normal people do. That's exactly the vibe Umbrella Academy gives off, so, impressive work. 10/10
