Ryland Grace does not enjoy keeping secrets, and now he doesn't have to- yay! He's sharing his feelings and bonding with his team; the Mental Health Thrum will be so proud of how well he's following their advice. He misses home but he's actually having a pretty good time while they prepare for launch.
or
Ryland Grace was weird when he was (badly) trying to keep his time travel a secret. Surely he'll be more normal now that he doesn't have to dance around the truth? Oh fuck, he's WEIRDER?

Summary
Ryland Grace is not going to be one of those *crazy* time travellers. He has more sense than that. He can totally fix things and get back home and nobody will ever be the wiser. The Acting thrum would be so proud of how well he is pulling this off right now.
or
Ryland Grace is a time traveller. He's also the world's smartest idiot. The rest of the team on the Vat is totally gonna let him fix things, but honestly, how stupid does he think they are?

Summary
He catches a glimpse of himself in the small mirror across the room.
It’s as if he’s been frozen in time. Nothing about him has changed since he last touched the surface of his home planet.
But of course, that’s not true. Everything has changed.
He doesn’t understand. He doesn’t know what this means. He’s a man of science. There are rules, immutable laws of the universe, no matter where in the universe one is. Entropy, decay, deterioration. Everything in the universe experiences it.
Everything except him, it seems.
Or: While on Erid, Ryland Grace makes a startling realization: he seems to have stopped aging.
