Could they not just let him be in peace? Destroy his mortal shell in peace? Grief the loss of his one and only?. Maybe if he had been a bit more controlled, he'd recognize that his behavior was as irrational and radical as his lover's used to be. He was supposed to be the sound one, yet here he was, close to screaming and crying from anger and shame.
Once he was alone again, he curled up while leaning his back against the cold wall of the tub, rubbing his face with both hands. "Fuck, is it really that obvious? Do I look this miserable?" He whispered to himself, already dreading this day. If he could stop time in that moment, he would.
"You do look miserable and pathetic. I just replaced that liver of yours. It took way too much damage from the poison attack. I can not believe you are drinking enough to drown out my hard work. I am truly appalled. You don't even like alcohol." A soft, silvery whisper wandered into his ear; it sounded so close and yet so far away.
