With a head wound, a now pounding headache, and surrounded by a large forest filled with animals that would likely eat him given the chance.

Jonathan Crain. Dancing? Slightly, more like swaying. In the sea of people one seemed out of place. With shaggy graying hair haphazardly tossed out of his face. His face, Jonathan’s crooked and sharp face pulled into a smile. Jon had certainly been there much longer than Edward, with sweat rolling down his forehead and suit mostly pulled off. Tie pulled down his chest, dress shirt unbuttoned down to his sternum and, suit jacket most likely long forgotten about. Jon seemingly relaxed, more relaxed than Edward knew Jonathan could be. Ed’s eyes lingered down Jonathan’s body, slowly drinking in every detail before rising back up to the mans face meeting Jons eye’s.

In retrospect, when Jonathan knew, it was obvious. So obvious he couldn’t believe he hadn’t seen it before. It kept him up late into the night, alone, thinking of all the times Edward had shown his hand. Playing poker with all his chips on the table, knowing he’d lose in the end, but still refusing to fold.
True masochism – Or maybe he just honestly couldn’t help it. The latter idea hurt Jonathan more.
