Originally started writing in 2011/12, continued in 2019, set in 2010. Originated from some Digimon fanfic I wrote, but the characters have been moved to original fiction, where they belong.

Logan is a 22-year-old Marine Corporal. So was his best friend, Ethan Harris. The two were always neck-and-neck, being seen at each other’s sides since they were toddlers playing in the sandbox together. The two join the military together for the fun of it, but 4 years later, a bullet hits Ethan in the abdomen when a mission goes haywire. Logan finds himself with nothing to do without his best friend by his side. He ends up itching his skin in self-hatred for what he did and didn’t do and he lays in the dark, replaying the moment in his conscience. His heart tells him to stay down, leave the military and stay with Ethan’s family to cope with them, stick to his morals. But his head tells him otherwise. Committing a war crime wasn’t on his chore list. Now dealing with guilt of committing perfidy, he needs to figure out how to juggle his grief and morals before they both swallow him whole.

The Agents successfully extract from Eden. Some with injuries, some with guilt, and others with PTSD (Except for one).
They take a breath, in and out. They compose themselves, relieved that the nightmares have passed. They even managed to escape with one of the converted denizens of Eden, planning to live in peace away from problems.
One of them is severely injured, hit in the artery. There were no vital parts in danger, however. So, they thought their fight was over and only needed to treat the sickness left from days of infection. With safety and comfort, they depart to the dreamland.
Unfortunately, an unexpected event occurred.
The autopilot was to take them to Frain-271, instead...
