AAAAAAAAHHHHHH!!!! I LOVE it! It's amazing!!! I love the creepy villain and the suspense and the horror and the comfort and and and I Love it! Every single paragraph! This is so much more than I had ever hoped for and I'm over the moon! Thank you so so much for taking my prompt and turning it into this brilliant story!
When I got the notification I was on my way to work and while I often manage to sneak a bit of reading into the time in-between seeing patients, it was a pretty hectic Friday and I couldn't start with the story until I got home. But then a friend visited over the weekend and she dragged me outside on walks and stuff - which was great, but again, couldn't read! The wait was killing me! But it was definitely worth it. Now I got to truly take my time reading and concentrating on the story with no interrupions. And it was absolutely glorious! I can't thank you enough. There just aren't words to describe how happy this story makes me. You made my day! My week! Thank you so much!
Thank you, I'm so glad you liked this. I had to keep the Supernatural influence (which I hope you were able to pick out) and in the beginning this was all going to take place on Vanaheim when they were teens but then my mind wandered and somehow the Avengers showed up (I seriously can't seem to write a fic where Tony doesn't make an appearance) and then it just spiraled out of control from there. The hardest part I had was trying to figure out how the hell to kill Calder. He went from Dragur to Soul Eater to Demon to a weird mixture of all three. (I watch way too much Supernatural, I even have the tattoo on my shoulder, lol.) Again, I'm glad you enjoyed it and now *cracks knuckles* to finished off Awake Within a Dream and then maybe tackling another prompt. We'll see what happens.
Oh, I certainly didn't just like the story, I LOVE it! It's amazing! And I really like the changing scenery from past to present and back. Also, Tony is awesome, so I'm glad you found a way to include him and the Avengers, too. I also really love mythology and urban legends and all the creepy stuff and Calder was such a great depiction of a supernatural villain. I used to be a big fan of the show Supernatural, but I must admit I stopped watching after season.... 5 I think? The whole God and angels and heaven and hell stuff was a bit much for my taste. I liked it better when it was just two brothers on a scary road trip. But maybe I should start watching again. I did enjoy it a great deal back then. I would be over the moon if you felt inspired to tackle another prompt. But I'm also very much looking forward to the next chapter of Awake Within a Dream. On that note - I do plan to draw for that story, too. I already have a scene planned out. Now all that I need is time to draw....
That makes me happy. This did kind of take over my life and ended up putting Awake Within a Dream on the back burner. I totally get what you mean about needing time. My work schedule is insane and the only saving grace I've had lately is I've been working nights so it's been much slower so while I've been "working" I've been jotting things down here and there.
Supernatural kind of slowed down around season 6 but it picked back up towards the end of 7. I like Sam but Dean and Cass are my favorite characters.
I can't wait to see what you draw for Awake Within a Dream. Unfortunately I crushed my hand at work a couple weeks ago so now I'm in a brace and typing is a huge pain which means working on the next chapter is going to go even slower. They don't think I broke it but we'll see.

I have already picked a scene that I want to do and I have started to scribble some tiny figure sketches to work out the composition. Quite a bit of that at work, too. It's been slow going lately. We put everything on hold to offer vaccinations and now no one wants them which is crazy and incredibly frustrating. But it means a lot of empty time to fill.
Anyway, I'll stop rambling now. I hope you get better soon and that the pain goes away quickly.
PS: I always loved Dean best. He's just the coolest.
Sooo. I was really into drawing this and it got done a lot quicker than I had expected. I hope you like it. This scene blew me away and while I had planned on drawing for the story before, once I read Ch. 6 I knew I had to do this scene.
