Roger, while Ace hadn't liked him, didn't sound like a bad guy. Shanks had told him all about the guy Roger really was. The man his father was. But damn if Ace didn't wish he'd been born to someone else.
But he wasn't. So his arms are chained above his head. The chains long enough that his knees can touch the floor, but only just so. Teasing him with the idea of relaxation, but not letting him fall limp without rubbing his wrists raw.
"Hi!"
"Hey."
".. What are you doing?"
"Gettin' out. Why, you wanna come, Fire Guy?"
"Sounds like a good plan. Uh.." He makes a vague gesture - difficult to do, chained to the wall. She doesn't seem to get it, though, so he asks again, "What's your name?"
She spits out a mouthful of chewed up seastone - what the fuck - and turns her head to him. Eyes blank and wide. Why. Why. Why is this his life. Why.
Why is she staring like that? Like she's known him his whole life? Why does he feel the same?
No. No, he's certain he'd remember someone like her... The scar. The fucking scar, it's- "Monkey D. Luffy." Her.

Garp had a deep frown on his face. He looked up at Luffy. “How do you know Haki, Luffy?”
Luffy made a thinking pose. They watched him as his face turned red, then smoke came out from his ears. Ace and Sabo would think it was adorable if they didn't worry for their little brother's poor brain.
After a while, Luffy smiled as if he already got an answer. “Yup! I don't know!”

Summary
When a genius child receives bullying and accusations of cheating every time he does well at something, he learns to hide his intelligence.
Now what happens when that bullied child meets another child being bullied? Nothing, usually. He takes the hits for them, and they run away. There's no thank you, most of the time they'll never interact with each other again.
But when Izuku sees a child being bullied at another school, he takes a different approach. After all, Kacchan will never find out about this, right? So it's okay if he shows his intelligence while he does it. It turns out this kid is a bit different too, so maybe it works out.
Fair warning: This fic jumps between being in first person perspective and third person perspective. It also morphs into an omniscient reader's viewpoint at some point when it was not before. I don't think it's a big deal, but I figured I'd mention it.

The man reminds him of something but Izuku can’t figure it out.
Izuku laughs a bit, ”I rambled a lot before I lost my hearing so I guess it carried over in to sign language. Why did you learn sign language?”
“What are you guys saying?” Izuku catches Uraraka asking in his peripheral vision. He’s gotten really good at reading lips, in fact he picked it up pretty quickly seeing as it was already a hobby he was interested in before he went deaf.
“We’re just talkin’ about our own shit, round face,” The angry man says and signs, “you’re the one who asked me to talk to the nerd.”
That’s when it hits him. This dude reminds him a lot of Boom. The way he responds to things are just very Boom-esque.
Though he does tend to make connections to Boom in damn near everybody he meets, so that’s not saying much at all.

OR, Izuku moves to Japan - where his online best friend happens to live - after living in America his whole life, what will he find?

Bakugo Katsuki was smart. Annoyingly so. He could fit clues together, and this was a rather easy puzzle.
He was dead. Cool. Cool cool cool… He was beaten by some damn villain that wasn’t worth Katsuki’s left nutsack, let alone his life. That’s fine. He didn’t feel angry. Why didn’t he feel angry? He felt… hollow. Numb.
I’m dead. I’m fucking dead. What the shit?
No, no he wasn’t. If he was dead, he wouldn’t be standing here, right? If he was dead, he would be in heaven or hell or goddamn purgatory with his ancestors or some shit! So no, Bakugo wasn’t dead. The villain must have a partner, one that had some shitty quirk that could separate his soul from his body. Yeah! That makes sense.
He was Bakugo fucking Katsuki- he wouldn’t get killed by some nobody extra before even making it to UA. He would go out in a blaze of glory on the battlefield after becoming the number one hero!
Wouldn't he?
(Aka, I've read so many Ghost! Izuku fics that I felt the need to balance the scales)
