“Shut up,” Eddie mutters, and Josh holds back a laugh. “Anyway, Buck was a bit put out by that. But then Tommy was being weird about our matching—”
“About your couple’s costumes,” Josh teases.
“Our matching costumes,” Eddie corrects half-heartedly. “And then Buck was all ‘I don’t think this is going to work out between us, Tommy’ right in front of—”
“Your salad?”
“What? No, there was no salad,” Eddie says seriously, and Josh snorts.

Only the one who loves her most can take her place.There were instructions. A place to go, alone.
A very clear stipulation that the location was being watched. That if you were bugged, or tracked, or followed, Maddie would die.
OR -
A serial killer kidnaps Maddie and leaves a note for the person who loves her most to trade places with her. Buck is only too willing to be the one to do it.
