Summary
The world where there wasn't a brain scan, where humans were dragged into a computer against their will... it's not a world with happy endings. And when the humans are ejected from the Circus, missing one of their own, they don't just get to go back to their lives. There's hospitals, and police, and desperately trying to be believed, followed by just as desperately trying to be left alone. But the one thing they have is each other. They have each other and that's never going to change.
TADC AU – Non-SOMA, Escape the Circus. Everyone is insanely codependent and the way they got out was so traumatizing they can barely talk about it. Pomni tries her best to hold everyone together, while also getting re-used to a life outside, and wondering which world was actually better.
MAY become Gangle/Zooble and/or Jax/Pomni if it goes on long enough, but most of the fic is focused on their platonic found family bond. MULTIPLE Trigger Warnings, both tagged and untagged; untagged will be labelled at the top of chapters. Viewer Discretion Advised.

Post Episode 9. Pomni realizes that she's fallen in love with Jax. It's a terrible mistake, but this is coming from the same woman who breaks into abandoned buildings as a hobby. No one ever said that falling in love was logical.

Jax is fine.
Completely and totally fine.
He's fine when his best friend suddenly becomes aggressive and turns on him. He's fine when he starts pushing everyone else away. He's fine after fighting with Pomni when she claims they're friends. And he's sure as hell fine when he locks himself and his room, slowly beginning to abstract.
Jax's world is coming down around him and he struggles to admit that he's lost control, that maybe he's never been in control.
When he started to abstract he didn't expect to wake up. He didn't expect the rest of the circus to suddenly be rallying with him after everything he said and did.
And he definitely didn't expect that he might finally have to admit, to himself and everyone else, that he's not okay.
(OR: After episode 6 Jax starts to abstract. The gang finds a way to stop it but there are… consequences. Jax is forced to think about his past and becomes angry at the idea that he once again could be hopeless. But is he really?)
