Chapter Text
Lizzie stared at the stick, squinting at the faint lines, trying to read and remember what the colors represented. In her heart she knew, and slowly she felt her knees give out. Two years ago she would have been walking on cloud nine in absolute celebration and upcoming joy. Now she found herself hiding in the bathroom during a Christmas party, avoiding her husband forcing her to stand under the mistletoe for another rough kiss as the guests cheered and laughed, not knowing the truth.
Lizzie knew she couldn't stay in here much longer. Though fairly confident Davey wouldn't hurt Frankie with others around watching, still she needed to protect him. Like she would need to protect this child by in a few days after the holidays getting an abortion. Davey could never know. No one could know.
Lizzie straightened up, took the test and buried it in the trash bin, forced a smile, and walked out to the party.
