Summary
Neferet, the disfavored daughter of a powerful provincial landlord, fled her natal estate in the dead of night to escape an arranged marriage to a man three times her age. Utterly alone, Neferet joined the Thief King, hoping he would protect her, and paid a high price. Two years later, she is captured by the royal army and sentenced to die for her crimes. Facing death, Neferet strikes a deal with the Pharaoh, offering information in exchange for her safety.
