Hands grabbed him everywhere, gripping him, touching him, making sure he can't leave.
Odysseus felt suffocated with everyone, all over him. Everyone wanted to do something different to him.
In cases where he's helpless he'd pray to Athena who'd do anything to help him but now he thinks she might come down and collect him to Olympus.
Goddesses do that, to alot of mortal men. Though usually because they're romantically into them. Athena seems to have decided she's his new mother.
Angry, possessive, paranoid, desperate hands liter—
Wait! You must be wondering how did Odysseus get himself in this situation? Well....
1- Odysseus got so tired of the war he ran away and was caught by Diomedes before flinging himself into the river
2- Diomedes kept it hidden so Agamemnon doesn't freak out but tells Eurylochus and others
3- They start looking for Odysseus while Achilles finds out
4- Odysseus meets Hector and gets away
5- Athena is spiraling, Apollo meets Odysseus and is infatuated by how fun and interesting he is
6- Athena sends Hermes to look for Odysseus who eventually gets annoyed that he can't track him
7- Odysseus hides in Mysia and gets a new name "Kallias", works as a mercenary with Maldovin, Gialus, Uloan, Lemenai then opens a bakery
8- Odysseus also serves Hermes in the bakery but they didn't know each other. And Dionysus again didn't recognize each other
8- due to lack of supplies Polites, Eurylochus, and Diomedes go to Mysia for supplies and Polites runs into Odysseus whom runs
9- Athena, Diomedes, Polites, and Eurylochus find out Odysseus is in Mysia
10- during a Mercenary trip Odysseus encounters Hestia
11- then Polites, Eurylochus, and Diomedes find him and reveal his identity
12- Odysseus goes up the vine (oh yeah they were a cave and the three Greeks threw a vine down to get to Odysseus) and takes the mercenaries and run
13- they hide in the forest making Odysseus literally miss the Ithacan ship (oh yeah Odysseus was hiding in Mysia because he was trying to board the ship to Ithaca and go home)
14- now Athena is being a crazy mother bird to Odysseus cuz she found him then they run away from her
15- run into Artemis who decides they're too pathetic and leaves
Ofcourse, I suggest reading the actual fic because this summary doesn't include all the important things that'll be mentioned in my fic, plus this isn't by chapter this is just main points

Odysseus slept fitfully, what could get worse? They were in the middle of nowhere!
The mercenaries slept so heavily it scared him. Threats, dangers, everything could happen as they slept.
Actually he didn't sleep at all, always on edge because something was wrong.
And Odysseus is right, he's always right.
Running, breaking twigs.
He looked up and wished he hadn't. Long golden hair, emerald green eyes, and a heck ton of freckles.
One might think he is a girl, but Odysseus knows better.
Achilles.
Odysseus swore his heart rate was faster than Achilles.
Polites? He was fine, he didn't know how to exist without his captain and wouldn't hurt him.
Diomedes? Sure they fight alot but Diomedes truly loved him.
Eurylochus? He would risk Citmene fucking murdering him.
But Achilles? He had no familial ties, no loyalty ties, and no lover ties.
The son of Peleus was smart but he was incredibly impulsive and without Patroclus around to calm him...
Death might be mercy.
Odysseus turned and ran.
That's what made Achilles see him and start running after him, screaming.
Odysseus couldn't make out what he was screaming as the adreline was too much.
He ran, and ran, and ran...
Till he ducked behind a tree and hid. Achilles was running too fast to think of checking there.
He was safe for now, so he continued hiding within the forest.

"What do you mean that again he was that close and you let him slip away?!" Agamemnon demanded an answer.
Achilles personally was ready to jump him if Patroclus wasn't keeping a hand on his shoulder.
"We've lost him... Again... And he left... Again..." Menelaus muttered, he hadn't been the same since Odysseus left.
Palamedes lazily checked his fingernails. "Are you morons done yet? Or is there more?"
Diomedes gritted his teeth. "Oh? You have an idea? Wanna share?"
Palamedes sighed like this was inconveniencing him. "You're playing into his game. He wants you to panic and not think right. If we play him at his own game then we'll win."
Ajax the greater rolled his eyes. "Okay, then what do you say we do?"
Palameded grinned. "I know just the idea...."

Maldovin woke up with a yawn. It's been crazy. 2 goddesses after them and who knows how more.
Kallias turned out to be some king of Ithaca named Odysseus whom the entire Greek army might be having an orgy with.
Speaking of which where is Kallias?
He wouldn't...
"You finally awake, lover boy?" Uloan said dryly.
Uloan was sharpening a dagger. Gialus was looking at the sky like it personally offended him. Lemani was sitting down, holding his knees, and looking for once sad.
Maldovin blinked. "Where is Kallias gone?"
Gialus looked at him, bitter, sad, longing. "Odysseus wasn't there when we woke up. And there are twinges snapped around the area signalling he ran."
Maldovin felt his heart drop. In theory it made sense. Kallias abandoned his people and could abandon them too. But it didn't seem right, Kallias wouldn't do that. "He wouldn't..."
Uloan cut in. "He would. If he'd run away from his people he'd run away from us."
"Athena could've been who took him—"
"Maldovin, a goddess would smite us too, plus there's twinges snapped, there's evidence of a ran."
Maldovin was unconvinced it couldn't be. "Kallias didn't run... For no reason- we- we have to find him!"
Gialus laughed humorlessly. "Do the same thing we locked the Greeks for? Really?"
Lemani who had been uncharacteristically quiet finally spoke. "He left us... He left me..."
This couldn't be happening.
