"Go...Now."
Wednesday sent the woman they'd rescued from the basement on towards the exit while she stood her ground. As the Hyde came barreling to a stop in front of her, she knew that if there was any chance of getting Tyler...HER Tyler back...this was it.
"You were right, I did sense the monster in you...but that's not the part I fell in love with."
The Hyde tilted its head in confusion, but it didn't make any moves to attack, so she kept going.
"I fell in love with the boy who couldn't read the instructions on an espresso machine, but still managed to make a perfect quad over ice just because I wanted it. I fell in love with the boy who watched me dance under a blood shower and didn't flinch. I fell in love with the boy that knew exactly what constitutes as a horror film for me...still having nightmares about pink suits and small dogs by the way...but most importantly, I fell in love with the boy that saw me, and only me, not the preconceived notion that everyone else has of me..."
She took a cautious step forward and reached up to put her hands on the Hyde's face.
"You are not what Thornhill tried to make you be...you are not just a monster...you are Tyler...and you are MINE."
The Hyde’s form trembled under Wednesday’s touch, muscles twitching and spasming as if wrestling an unseen force. His grotesque features contorted, sharp fangs receding, jagged claws retracting into trembling hands. A guttural growl morphed into a ragged gasp.
Wednesday’s hands remained steady, her gaze unwavering. "Tyler," she whispered, her voice a fragile tether pulling him from the abyss.
The beast’s eyes, wild and feral, flickered with something familiar—recognition. The bloodshot sclera faded back to the warm amber she knew so well. His face softened, the monstrous visage dissolving like mist under morning light, leaving Tyler’s tear-streaked face in its wake. There was no madness, no hatred left in his eyes, just the soul-deep gaze that had always left her breathless.
"There you are..."
He collapsed to his knees, breath ragged, his head resting against her stomach as sobs wracked his frame. Wednesday knelt with him, cradling his face between her cool palms, thumbs brushing lightly against his cheekbones.
"I missed you,"she murmured, finally admitting the one truth she'd been avoiding for so long.
Tyler’s voice was hoarse and trembling as he spoke.
"I'm sorry,I'm so sorry,I–I didn’t want to hurt anyone, especially not you. I didn't mean what I said about Enid either, I just...I was just afraid you’d never want to see me again."
"I never stopped wanting to see you," she replied softly, her forehead resting against his.
They stayed that way for a long time, before Tyler broke the silence between them.
"What happens now?"
"For now? We get the hell out of here," Wednesday said as she stood, pulling Tyler up with her so she could sling an arm around his waist,"and find you some pants...nothing against the workout regimen of WillowHill, but I don't need other people seeing what belongs to me."
Tyler laughed and put his arm around Wednesday's shoulders.
"Do I belong to you,Wednesday Addams?"
"You always have...and you want to know something else?"
"What's that?"
"I belong to you,too."
