Chapter Text
They had almost given up, no record label wanted them.. it felt hopeless for everyone. They tried to keep the positivity up but it’s hard when you keep getting put down.
Mike didn’t even want to think about it, he shook his head and splashed it with water, his family was visiting today, they knew he needed someone to cheer him up.
“Fuck.. I don’t have anything to cook, they are going to think I’m useless” he cursed at himself while desperately looking through the pantry.
He managed to find some left over pecan pie and cut it into slices, if you don’t have food you can dessert.
His favorite dessert was definitely Chester’s lips, he couldn’t stop longing for them. He hadn’t got the chance to touch them again but that didn’t stop the hungry eyes they threw at each other, knowing that they both wanted to crash into each other.
“Stop thinking about that, your family is coming over!” Mike told himself and sighed. Then he raised his eyebrows, looked down and lost it.
“I CAN’T HAVE A BONER WHEN MY FAMILY IS HERE!!” He freaked out.
30 minutes of thinking about dead kittens later, his family arrived. He hugged his mom and kissed her cheek, gave his dad a half hug with a pat on the back and then when he saw his brother Jason they both threw finger guns at each other before laughing.
“We’ve missed you so much at the house” his mom said and his dad agreed by nodding. “Are you sure you don’t want to move back? Since your career isn’t taking off” his dad asked, with a spiteful tone that made Mike want to roll his eyes.
“I’m good where I’m at, thanks” he said and stared at his dad. “You need to show me some music!” His brother exclaimed and practically drew him away, Mike could quickly tell his parents to sit by the sofa and enjoy the pie before his headroom’s door was closed in front of him.
“So.. anything fun happening?” Jason asked with a big smile. Mike chuckled and they talked for a bit about the bands progress.
Then came the question, “How is the new singer? Any good?”. Mike had wanted to avoid mentioning Chester, he was scared he might blush and Jason would catch on.
“He is amazing at what he does, and we all get along with him pretty well, almost” Mike responded which ended in more questions, he explained the feud between Chester and Rob and then Jason went on about how much school suck.
They rejoined their parents in the living room and sat down to chitchat. The pie was delicious. “So, have you found a special someone here?” His mom asked out of nowhere, making Mike choke on his pie, which he didn’t appreciate.
Jason just laughed, “mom calm down, give him some time” he said. His father repeated what his mom had said and Mike swallowed and then answered, “there are lots of beautiful and sweet women here, I’ve chatted to a few but haven’t found ‘the one’ yet”
“Really, no one?” His mother asked with a cheeky smile, they do say that a mother always know..
“Well.. I might like someone, but it doesn’t mean anything can happen between us” Mike said quietly. His mom squirmed in excitement. “Maybe not now but in the future I’m sure she will want to marry you”. Jason winked at him and they all kind of giggled.
He gave his brother one last hug before waving goodbye and closing the door. That visit felt so much longer that it was. He was going to lie in bed and relax but his phone rang before he could.
He saw who was calling and instantly answered.
“Hi Chaz!” He practically screamed.
“Haha Hi Mike, a little loud there”
“Yeah, sorry, just excited, I’ve missed you”
“Days off get annoying, I want to see you, Sam is a bitch right now and says I should sleep on the couch so I don’t see the problem with sleeping somewhere else then”
Mikes heart skipped beats, Chester was going to sleep over??
“Of course you can come over, my parents just left actually”
“Thank god, wouldn’t want to meet them just yet” Chester said jokingly and they both laughed before hanging up.
Mike rushed to bathroom to brush his teeth and put on some deodorant, he even fluffed his pillow on the bed and couch, then sat there waiting my anxiously for 30 minutes.
*pling*
Mike ran to the door to let Chester in, they both got the biggest smiles when seeing each other. They hugged and Chester out his bag down on the floor, “I got some pyjamas, underwear and a toothbrush with me”
“This feels like a 5th grade sleep over, and I love it” Mike laughed. Chester had already slept over at Mikes place before him and Sam decided to move to LA themselves, but this time it was different.
“Should I take the couch or you?” Chester asked and Mike felt his heart get crushed a little bit, he had assumed Chester would be sleeping next to him.
Mike decided to let Chester have the bed, they ate some sandwiches before playing Mario cart. “Hey! Why did you push me off, that’s cheating” Mike said with a surprising tone. “That’s not cheating at all, I’m just better than you at the game” Chester replied and laughed.
“Take that back!” Mike said, he tried to sound serious but ended up laughing. He play pushed Chester with the elbow and Chester did it back, it ended with them tickling each other on the floor.
They stopped to catch their breaths, Mike was crouched against the couch and Chester in front of him. They looked into each others eyes and before they knew it their lips touched. It was a hot and steamy kiss, with hands everywhere and small moans escaping now and then.
Mike pushed him away suddenly. “We shouldn’t do this to you wife, it’s not fair for her, you’re saying she’s still sick so it’s definitely not okay to do it now either, she will get hurt!”
Chester sighed.. “I know… honestly even if she annoys me and I practically hate her sometimes she is still my wife, I do feel guilty”
It was an awkward evening after that, they shortly said goodnight before tucking in. Mike stared at the ceiling, “I wonder what my parents will think if they find out I like men”
Chester tried to fight the guilt over both cheating on his wife and liking men, he wish he didn’t, after what he had been through he never wanting anything to do with men.. but the heart wants what it wants…
Mike couldn’t take it anymore, he had to say something to Chester, or just hug him, he went up to go to his room. In the meanwhile Chester had the exact same idea and was heading out to the couch.
Mike got to his bedroom door right as Chester opened it. They looked at each other before chuckling. “Do you want to lay in bed with me Chester asked and Mike nodded.
Mike laid on his back while Chester had his arm around him, stroking up and down his chest. “I like this, I like us” he said and Mike kissed his forehead. “I’m sad it can’t be like this forever” he replied. Mikes hand traveled down chester body while he was playing with Mikes chest hair.
He was right at Chester’s underwear before he felt a hand on his, pulling it up.
“It’s too soon” Chester said and Mike understood. They fell asleep like that a while later and both of them wished for it to never end, but it was inevitable, Chester had to go home tomorrow.
