This is a classical Trek tale that I have reread many times, and considered among my Head Canon - and I'm sure I'm but one of many who feel so - this was very belivable, fits so well with what we've seen of the official "Space Seeds" episode, Khan has a temper, they all do, and what are superior beings who could not even control their temper? Marla was indeed a superior woman - superior to them. Reading through this, then Djinn's knife-in-the-gut sequel, "Not All At Once", made Marla's canon fate unbearable to content with. Except, even to the bitter end - Marla has actually won, hasn't she? A victory of the Prometheus sort - but Marla got what she set out to accomplished, just as Prometheus had.
