Summary
Francesca Bridgerton lives by order, control, and logic; she studies Music and plays the piano alone. Michaela Stirling is movement, impulse, and excess; she studies Photography and plays guitar in a band. Brought together by John, they orbit the same space but never on the same frequency within the dorms of the University of London. What begins as forced proximity quickly turns into friction… until a bet, or a piece of blackmail, changes everything. Michaela accepts the challenge: to seduce Francesca, dismantle her defenses, make her feel everything she has always avoided, get close enough to break her. The plan is simple. Summary
“You have driven me to insanity, Francesca.” She accuses in the softest version of a harsh tone that anyone could direct at her. It is amazing the way it makes her hesitate, the relief the words bring to her are unfair, but they settle in her bones anyway.
“I-” She snaps her mouth shut, feeling the horrible urge to stutter. “What do you mean?” She manages after a moment and feels the wild look in Michaela’s eyes travel through her abruptly and settle in her lower stomach.
Her eyes are always so intense and beautiful, a distracting thing for Francesca. “What do I mean!?” Michaela is still dripping water as she advances forward and Francesca has the urge to step back but there isn’t much space for her to escape too, so instead she stands still as Michaela gets closer. She smells like rain and a bit of firewood today. “I cannot sleep.” Francesca feels herself stuttering out a breath and then maybe stop breathing entirely. “If you are not next to me, I cannot sleep. I cannot stay away from you and yet if I am near you, it is agony to not be touching you. So, I stay away and instead I cannot sleep.” Michaela is much closer to her now, shivering.

Summary
"Francesca Bridgerton decided three things when Professor Danbury read out the pairings for her English seminar final project of the term.
One: Danbury was a fucking sadist who thrived on chaos.
Two: This project would be unbearable no matter how early her and her partner decided to start it.
Three: She would absolutely not let fucking Michaela Stirling get the upper hand.
“And for our final pairing, we have Francesca Bridgerton and Michaela Stirling,” Danbury said, peering over the podium she was leaning against with far too much satisfaction. “Everyone, you’ll be recreating a scene from a play of your choosing. Hell, you can even do a scene from a musical for all I care. There must be a performance and an analysis of the scene and your interpretation of it. You all will have three weeks' time.”
Or Francesca and Michaela, notorious academic rivals, are forced to work together for their Final Project.
