Summary
So the years passed, and those kids under the awning grew. As they did; wounds left open for so long healed, bonds formed between those who thought they could never be anything other than acquaintances, and that very tired octoling found some rest- what it means to have forgiveness and self-love.
Even as things seemed to come to an end- finally reaching a form of closure, there were still things left unsaid- unseen- unheard.
One can only truly know what they experience.

“Dick!” Duke’s voice preceded him as he turned the corner into the kitchen. “How was— Oh sh-shoot,” he said, mincing the oath in Alfred’s presence. “You got feathers!”
Dick felt the wings twitch self-consciously. The keratin-covered pin feathers rattled together. “I don’t know if they count as feathers yet.”
“You look like a rotisserie chicken had a run-in with a porcupine,” Tim shouted from the top of the stairs.
“Yeah, thanks for that.” Dick rolled his eyes.
“You’ll be flying before you know it,” Duke said confidently.

Dick Grayson has two new limbs growing out of this shoulders. In theory, it's really, really cool. In practice, new bones and new organs are a lot to get used to.

Summary
It was something like an open secret in Gotham, that even though all it’s heroes were open to help no matter the situation, each one of them had a special affinity to certain matters.
For example, children from all districts knew to yell for Nightwing if they found themselves lost and scared. Small business owners often painted little Oracle symbols on their doorsteps, to warn away possible thieves with the knowledge that Gotham’s cryptic hacker had their eye on them. Working girls would send a quick prayer to the Red Hood before seeing their seediest clients; and as such, knew who to call for if things took a turn for the worst.
And Red Robin… well. His was a very specific bunch.

Summary
There’s just enough strength left in Jason to lower himself to the stairs instead of falling flat on his face and breaking his nose on the Replacement’s mahogany floorboards. He clings to the banister as his body drops like a malfunctioning crane. His teeth are clattering together so hard he can’t hear himself think.
Not that he particularly wants to right now.
He wraps his arms around himself and squeezes hard enough to aggravate the bruises on his ribs. The pressure is a shitty mockery of what his body craves, teasing himself in a way that only seems to make the terrible, all-consuming cold that’s got him in its jaws sink its teeth in deeper.
The bottom cuffs of his sweatpants are soaked with rain and mud. Somehow, the unpleasant shock of cold fabric clinging to his ankles is the sensation that’s easiest to focus on.
This cold doesn’t threaten to drive him mad.
Had he not been busy freezing from the inside out, he probably would have noticed the presence at the top of the stairs before it broke his ribs.
