Katsuki doesn’t think Izuku means to let a bit of his alpha creep into his voice, but it’s there all the same. A ripple of dominance courses through Katsuki, and while it’s not enough to force him to submit, he has to physically resist from baring his neck. Instead, he nods.
Izuku takes a deep breath. “I think we should mate.”
Or, Katsuki falls ill on a mission abroad, only to be diagnosed with imprinting sickness. The treatment is simple – mate with someone. Izuku doesn’t know he’s the one that Katsuki imprinted on, but he eagerly offers the cure all the same.

“What are you?” Katsuki asks.
The creature tilts its head, its green eyes glowing in the dark like gemstones. “Why should I tell you?”
Katsuki’s first instinct is to say because I want to know. Isn’t it enough to desire the answer? Must he have a justified reason? “I’m assuming you brought me here after those bastards left me for dead. Why shouldn’t I ask for the identity of my captor?”
“Rescuer, not captor. I’m not trying to hold you here. Quite the opposite actually. I just wanted to keep you safe here until you recovered. And you asked what I am, not who.”
Or, Katsuki, a professor at Ba Sing Se University, is on a desert expedition to find the Lost Library. Izuku is the owl spirit that defends it, but through serendipitous circumstances, Katsuki finds a way into the library (and Izuku's heart).

“Wait,” he stutters out. Izuku immediately backs off, sitting up to look at Katsuki with wide, concerned eyes.
“It’s okay, you didn’t do anything wrong,” he assures. “There’s just something I gotta tell you.”
Izuku slides off him to sit with her back against the wall. Katsuki sits up, and the sudden distance between them makes him ache. He reaches for her hand, and she reluctantly lets him hold it. But now that he has this audience, for some reason, the words he needs to say won’t come.
How do you confess something this big to the most important person in your life? To your best friend of fifteen years and the love of your life?
I don’t think I’m a girl.
Or, Katsuki and Izuku's relationship isn't new, but Katsuki's questioning of his gender is.

Summary
Katsuki tackles the man to the ground. He pins the man’s legs under his ankles, bracketing his knees around his hips. He bears down his full weight, catching the man’s hands in a tight grip and pressing his forearm against his throat. “You have five seconds to explain yourself before I crush your windpipe and send your corpse back to the demon king.”
The man’s eyes are wide and so, so green. He doesn’t try to fight against Katsuki; he just lays there, staring up at him. “Kacchan?”
Izuku, a Hyrulean knight chosen to wield the master sword, wakes up on a deserted plateau with no memories. Katsuki, a vigilante and Izuku’s childhood best friend, fights to keep the kingdom from falling apart. The wheels of fate start to turn when they find themselves on opposite sides of a war.

Katsuki’s face heats. He reaches for a towel to wipe off the excess sweat. “I’m not gonna kiss him, what the fuck-“
“Bakugo. I’m being serious.” Kirishima grips both his shoulders and looks him straight in the eyes. “You two have been dancing around each other for years. You’re never gonna get anywhere until one of you makes a move. So unless you want to sit around and wait for Midoriya to do something, the ball is in your court.”
Or, UA holds a New Years Eve party each year for the faculty and staff. As a new teacher, Izuku is beside himself with nerves about the event, but inviting Katsuki just might make the evening a little more enjoyable.
