    Summary

Once upon a time, there was a man who wagered against the stars.

    But victory was not his.

“Tell me, Han Yoojin-gun,” he says idly, “what do you think it means to be mortal?”

Han Yoojin raises an eyebrow, unimpressed. “Ugh. Why are all you S-Ranks like this? Did the fight knock something loose in your head?”

    “Humor me.”

Han Yoojin sighs, tilting his head as if considering. “You’re not a god. You’re human. Mortality means you’re allowed to screw up,” he says eventually. “You make mistakes, you die, and the world keeps going without you.”

“And if the world doesn’t let you die?”

Han Yoojin snorts. “Then you’re just unlucky.”

Unlucky. Sung Hyunjae doesn’t laugh this time.

    Summary

Midoriya works at a criminal law firm as a defending attorney in Musutafu, Japan. He’s a humble guy but despite his quirklessness he’d say he’s managed to secure a pretty reputable image for himself among detectives and lawyers alike.

However, his newest client proves to be his biggest challenge yet, and someone needs to tell him it would be much easier to get the guy acquitted if he could just stop trying to escape jail before his court trial!

Shinsou didn’t mean to get caught. But now that he had been, he decided to take advantage of the naïve and way too optimistic lawyer that was appointed to him for his case. With a man on the inside, the amount of real criminals that the insomniac could take down was endless.

    Summary

“I’m Midoriya Izuku,” he said, extending his hand. “By the way.”

The boy didn’t take it right away.
Instead, his gaze dropped to Izuku’s hand, lingering on the scars that crossed his knuckles and fingers—old fractures, healed wrong. For a moment, his expression flickered with something Izuku couldn’t place. Hesitation. Fear.

Then, slowly, the boy lifted his own hand.
    He reached out.

    And passed straight through.

A sharp, electric chill tore up Izuku’s arm, pins and needles erupting where their hands should have met. The sensation was wrong—too cold, too empty—and Izuku gasped, yanking his arm back as if burned.

    “What the f—“
He looked up, horror flooding his chest, green eyes blown wide.

    The boy only smiled.

It wasn’t the dazzling grin from before. It was smaller. Sadder. Like he’d known this would happen and had been bracing for it all along.

The boy laughed softly, as he said, “Name’s Shirakumo Oboro,” he said. “And I’m— well. Not—”

The word landed fully formed in Izuku’s mind before it was ever spoken.

    Ghost.

Izuku gains the ability to see ghosts. So now he has to figure out how to solve the death of a boy who shouldn't exist.

    Summary

Barok van Zieks is called into Lord Stronghart's office before his first trial since his retirement. The only reason he had returned - namely Kazuma Asougi's arrival and position as the defending attorney - had died during his passage vom Japan. But, so the Chief Lord Justice says, there is a replacement he wants Barok's opinion on. Barok doesn't have the means to decline and faces a spirited, yet clueless lawyer who achieves a crooked non-guilty verdict.
Lord Stronghart agrees that something has to be done about Ryuunosuke Naruhodou and places him under Barok's tutelage whose only experience with teaching is the education he had received - most notably under Lord Stronghart himself.
