Summary
She considered just how long they had been stuck in the haze, in the void. Months? More than a year? Months worth of lingering glances, accidental touches, words that came dangerously close to burning disguised as friendly, and in Wednesday’s case a somber flame. Silences that felt too loaded to be casual. But then again, there was the rest. Not mentioning when the word choice had been slightly romantic, the abrupt distance after an accidental graze of hands, the way their eyes parted painfully once the eye contact had stretched for too long.
