    He notices, idly, that his ears are ringing, and his hearing aids must be lost or broken, because he can’t hear anything other then the erratic beating of his heart, the loud stream of blood in his ear drums.

    Footsteps shake the ground by his head, and someone has found him, but it’s not enough. He can feel the orange-tinted darkness trying to cloud his vision, can feel the strain in his body, the breathlessness in his lungs, the feeling as his heart stutters. It’s funny, he thinks, as he sees Shouta’s face crowd his vision, that this is not the first time he’s felt his heart stutter when he’s seen him. This time is just for a reason other than Shouta himself.
